Samsung galaxy S4 Email Configuration

Setting up IMAP Email

  1. From the Home screen, tap Email.
  2. Then in the Email address and Password fields, enter the necessary information and tap Next.
  3. In case there’s already an email account set up on your Samsung Galaxy S4, press the Menu key -> tap Settings -> then tap the plus sign icon to add a new account.
  4. You smartphone will try to automatically search for the settings. In case it manages to find them, tap Account options and make the desired changes -> tap Next -> enter an account name and type in the desired name in the Your name field -> tap Done when ready.
  5. But if the account settings were not found, tap IMAP account.
  6. Tap the Username field and enter your email address.
  7. The Password is already filled in from the previous steps.
  8. Tap IMAP server and enter imap.mail.your-email-provider.com (for example, imap.mail.yahoo.com).
  9. Then tap Security type and select SSL.
  10. In the Port field enter 993 -> tap Next.
  11. In the SMTP field, enter smtp.mail.your-email-provider.com (for example, smtp.mail.yahoo.com).
  12. In the Security type field enter SSL.
  13. In the Port field enter 465 and tap Next.
  14. Now select the desired synching options and tap Next.
  15. Name your account and also enter a name under Your name (it will be displayed on the outgoing emails).
  16. When finished, tap Done.

Setting up POP Email

  1. From the Home screen, tap Email.
  2. Then in the Email address and Password fields, enter the necessary information and tap Next.
  3. In case there’s already an email account set up on your Samsung Galaxy S4, press the Menu key -> tap Settings -> then tap the plus sign icon to add a new account.
  4. You smartphone will try to automatically search for the settings. In case it manages to find them, tap Account options and make the desired changes -> tap Next -> enter an account name and type in the desired name in the Your name field -> tap Done when ready.
  5. But if the account settings were not found, tap POP3 account.
  6. Tap the Username field and enter your email address.
  7. The Password is already filled in from the previous steps.
  8. Tap POP3 server and enter pop3.your-email-provider.com (for example: pop3.live.com).
  9. Then tap Security type and select SSL.
  10. In the Port field enter 995 and tap Next.
  11. In the SMTP field, enter smtp.your-email-provider.com (for example: smtp.live.com).
  12. In the Security type field enter TLS.
  13. In the Port field enter 587 and tap Next.
  14. Now select the desired synching options and tap Next.
  15. Name your account and also enter a name under Your name (it will be displayed on the outgoing emails).
  16. When finished, tap Done.

Setting up Exchange Email

  1. From the Home screen, tap Email.
  2. Then in the Email address and Password fields, enter the necessary information and tap Next.
  3. In case there’s already an email account set up on your Samsung Galaxy S4, press the Menu key -> tap Settings -> then tap the plus sign icon to add a new account.
  4. You smartphone will now try to automatically search for the settings. In case it manages to find them, tap Account options and make the desired changes -> tap Next -> the exchange email account has been set up.
  5. In case the settings haven’t been found, tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (you many need to contact your email provider/company email administrator to verify the Exchange server settings).
  6. In case you’re prompted that the Setup could not finish, tap Edit details.
  7. Tap Domain/username and Exchange server and enter the necessary information.
  8. The password is already populated from the previous steps.
  9. Check or uncheck Use secure connection (SSL) as well as Use client certificate as necessary and tap Next.
  10. Read the Activation notice in case you’re prompted and tap OK.
  11. Make the desired syncing and delivery settings -> tap Next when finished.
  12. Finally, name your Exchange account and tap Done.
  13. Congratulations! The Exchange account has been set up!
