Setting up IMAP Email
- From the Home screen, tap Email.
- Then in the Email address and Password fields, enter the necessary information and tap Next.
- In case there’s already an email account set up on your Samsung Galaxy S4, press the Menu key -> tap Settings -> then tap the plus sign icon to add a new account.
- You smartphone will try to automatically search for the settings. In case it manages to find them, tap Account options and make the desired changes -> tap Next -> enter an account name and type in the desired name in the Your name field -> tap Done when ready.
- But if the account settings were not found, tap IMAP account.
- Tap the Username field and enter your email address.
- The Password is already filled in from the previous steps.
- Tap IMAP server and enter imap.mail.your-email-provider.com (for example, imap.mail.yahoo.com).
- Then tap Security type and select SSL.
- In the Port field enter 993 -> tap Next.
- In the SMTP field, enter smtp.mail.your-email-provider.com (for example, smtp.mail.yahoo.com).
- In the Security type field enter SSL.
- In the Port field enter 465 and tap Next.
- Now select the desired synching options and tap Next.
- Name your account and also enter a name under Your name (it will be displayed on the outgoing emails).
- When finished, tap Done.
Setting up POP Email
- From the Home screen, tap Email.
- Then in the Email address and Password fields, enter the necessary information and tap Next.
- In case there’s already an email account set up on your Samsung Galaxy S4, press the Menu key -> tap Settings -> then tap the plus sign icon to add a new account.
- You smartphone will try to automatically search for the settings. In case it manages to find them, tap Account options and make the desired changes -> tap Next -> enter an account name and type in the desired name in the Your name field -> tap Done when ready.
- But if the account settings were not found, tap POP3 account.
- Tap the Username field and enter your email address.
- The Password is already filled in from the previous steps.
- Tap POP3 server and enter pop3.your-email-provider.com (for example: pop3.live.com).
- Then tap Security type and select SSL.
- In the Port field enter 995 and tap Next.
- In the SMTP field, enter smtp.your-email-provider.com (for example: smtp.live.com).
- In the Security type field enter TLS.
- In the Port field enter 587 and tap Next.
- Now select the desired synching options and tap Next.
- Name your account and also enter a name under Your name (it will be displayed on the outgoing emails).
- When finished, tap Done.
Setting up Exchange Email
- From the Home screen, tap Email.
- Then in the Email address and Password fields, enter the necessary information and tap Next.
- In case there’s already an email account set up on your Samsung Galaxy S4, press the Menu key -> tap Settings -> then tap the plus sign icon to add a new account.
- You smartphone will now try to automatically search for the settings. In case it manages to find them, tap Account options and make the desired changes -> tap Next -> the exchange email account has been set up.
- In case the settings haven’t been found, tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (you many need to contact your email provider/company email administrator to verify the Exchange server settings).
- In case you’re prompted that the Setup could not finish, tap Edit details.
- Tap Domain/username and Exchange server and enter the necessary information.
- The password is already populated from the previous steps.
- Check or uncheck Use secure connection (SSL) as well as Use client certificate as necessary and tap Next.
- Read the Activation notice in case you’re prompted and tap OK.
- Make the desired syncing and delivery settings -> tap Next when finished.
- Finally, name your Exchange account and tap Done.
- Congratulations! The Exchange account has been set up!
